Shopping list : Billy-cans, insect-repellent, cutlery, book, hem-tape and slide film. So, all of these items I have seen over the last few weeks, but for one reason or another, I've not bought them. Now, of course, two days to go and can I find these things?
No, well yes AND no. Billy-cans for cooking - no problem. Cutlery, I forgot. Book - bingo, I managed to pick up three. Hem-tape to take up my trousers that I'll be trekking in - easy, but now I've got to take my trousers up. I have short legs, or the trousers come in only one LONG size. Slide film - not a hope in heaven. For some reason, Americans do not appear to use anything other than generic 35mm film or digital. I can't even find a camera shop. It's all Wal-Mat, CVS pharmacy, Radio Shack. Every caters for the majority, none to the minority. I am up the river without a paddle.
Perhaps tomorrow I'll get lucky with this stuff.
